3 New Prime Video Movies to Watch This Weekend (October 16-18) — Including Jeff Bridges' Slept-On Sci-Fi Comedy

Prime Video's Fresh Additions for Your Weekend Watchlist

As the weather finally cools down and brings crisp autumn air, a cozy weekend inside catching up on a watchlist is the ultimate weekend plan. Prime Video has recently expanded its library with over 130 new movies, offering everything from slick globe-trotting heist capers to emotional romantic dramas and chaotic supernatural comedies.

Whether you are looking for high-stakes thrills, heartfelt storytelling, or pure nostalgic entertainment, here are three standout movies newly available on Prime Video that deserve a spot on your weekend schedule.

1. 'Masterplan' (2026)

Stanley Tucci possesses an infectious, effortless charm that elevates any project he touches. In 'Masterplan', he plays a heightened yet thoroughly enjoyable version of himself: a master thief named Roger who decides to pull off one final, audacious job before retirement—stealing the Mona Lisa.

Naturally, a heist of this magnitude requires a crew. Roger recruits Italian tech whiz Chiara (Simona Tabasco) and French explosives specialist Jay (Victor Belmondo). The twist? They are actually his long-lost children. Expect plenty of comedic friction and family dysfunction as this estranged trio attempts to work together.

2. 'Love of Your Life' (2026)

For viewers seeking a mature, substance-driven romance, 'Love of Your Life' delivers profound emotional depth. Directed by Oscar-nominated cinematographer Rachel Morrison, the film follows fiercely independent nurse Maya (Margaret Qualley) after she crosses paths with an extroverted nerd named Charlie (Gabriel Basso) at age 26.

The couple begins building a life together, but tragedy abruptly upends their happy ending. Maya must navigate the subsequent years, confronting difficult life decisions and the complexities of new relationships while figuring out her next chapter. The stellar supporting cast includes Aaron Pierre, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Catherine Keener.

3. 'R.I.P.D.' (2013)

While 'R.I.P.D.' faced heavy criticism when it debuted in theaters, time has transformed it into a wildly entertaining guilty pleasure. Jeff Bridges stars as Roycephus 'Roy' Pulsipher, a cantankerous undead lawman with a wild swagger, alongside Ryan Reynolds as Nick, a freshly killed Boston police officer recruited into the Rest In Peace Department.

Tasked with tracking down recalcitrant spirits hiding out on Earth, the mismatched duo uncovers a dangerous conspiracy tied to Nick's murder. Booming with campy sci-fi energy, bizarre special effects, and Bridges' unforgettable performance, 'R.I.P.D.' is well worth a re-evaluation.
