5 Best New Movies and Shows to Stream on Netflix This Week (Oct. 19-25, 2026)

As the streaming landscape continues to shift, Netflix remains a powerhouse for new content. This week, running from October 19 to October 25, 2026, the platform is bolstering its library with a diverse selection of 16 new titles, ranging from gripping animation to high-stakes reality television.

Top Picks for the Week

1. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 Returning to the neon-drenched streets of Night City, this standalone sequel to the critically acclaimed anime series promises a fresh narrative. Produced by the visionary Studio Trigger, this 10-episode arc dives back into the corporate-controlled dystopian future of the Cyberpunk 2077 universe. Expect high-octane visuals and a darker tone as a new cast of mercenaries takes center stage.

2. The New Stanford Prison Experiment Netflix is taking a bold, controversial step by reimagining the infamous 1971 psychological study. In this modern iteration, 30 volunteers are placed into a controlled environment where the dynamic of 'inmates' and 'guards' is simulated. With modern ethical oversight and rigorous safety protocols, the series aims to observe how human nature shifts under systemic pressure, without the unethical pitfalls of the original trial.

3. Gladiator II While the original Ridley Scott epic remains a cinematic staple, its long-awaited sequel arrives on Netflix this week. Following Hanno (Paul Mescal) as he seeks vengeance in the Colosseum, the film offers visceral action and a standout performance by Denzel Washington as a manipulative arms dealer navigating the politics of Rome.

4. Nobody Wants This (Season 3) For those seeking comfort television, the journey of Joanne and Noah continues. As their unconventional, cross-cultural relationship matures, the third season explores the complexities of moving in together and the challenges of religious conversion, all while maintaining the charm and humor that fans have come to love.

5. Lupin (Part 4) Assane Diop, the master of disguise, returns in this gripping French thriller. Forced out of hiding to track down a copycat thief who is framing him for a string of museum heists, Assane must rely on his signature ingenuity to clear his name. Expect elaborate heists, high-stakes deception, and the return of the iconic gentleman thief persona.
