Mark Zuckerberg wants to create his own AI clone

As AI agents inspired by OpenClaw proliferate, we see that AI is no longer just a tool for automating certain tasks, but is gradually becoming a partner capable of replicating certain human functions.

And in this race for innovation, Silicon Valley leaders are already experimenting with these technologies on a large scale. But at Meta, Mark Zuckerberg is taking the experiment even further, and after having devoted himself to a fascination with “personal superintelligence,” the group’s CEO is currently working on a project for an AI agent capable of reproducing his own professional functioning

An AI agent to assist Meta’s CEO

According to the Wall Street Journal, Mark Zuckerberg is currently developing an AI agent dedicated to his role as CEO. This system, still under development, would aim to help him access the information necessary for managing the company more quickly. Specifically, the agent would be able to retrieve answers or data that Mark Zuckerberg would normally have to obtain by going through several hierarchical levels. The tool would therefore function as an advanced digital assistant, capable of centralizing internal information and providing it immediately. However, the idea doesn't stop at a simple assistant, and Meta's CEO would also like to feed the system with data on his daily activities, such as decisions, exchanges, work habits, and even his thought process. With enough data, the AI could then mimic his professional behavior and even anticipate certain decisions, based on observed patterns. Meta is accelerating its AI transformation. This project is part of a broader strategy at Meta, where the company seeks to integrate AI into all its activities to increase efficiency and compete with rivals, notably Anthropic with Claude Cowork. Internally, according to the survey, the use of AI is already widely deployed, and several experimental tools are circulating among teams, such as agents capable of analyzing documents, searching for information within projects, or even interacting with other colleagues' digital assistants. Overall, Meta actively encourages these initiatives, notably through workshops, training sessions, and hackathons dedicated to AI, to the point that the use of these tools is even included in some performance evaluation criteria. Beyond this aspect, this transformation is also accompanied by an evolution of the internal organization. According to the Wall Street Journal, the company is seeking to reduce hierarchical levels and place greater value on individual contributors, thanks to automated tools capable of accelerating decision-making and information flow.

Towards personalized AI agents for everyone?

In the longer term, Mark Zuckerberg makes no secret of his ambition to allow each individual to have their own AI agent. These agents could learn their user's habits, preferences, and behavior in order to act on their behalf in certain situations.

In this perspective, the CEO's digital clone project would then serve as a large-scale testing ground. And if the technology proves effective, Meta could then deploy similar agents on a large scale…
