Following a defamation complaint filed by Sébastien Delogu, the LFI (La France Insoumise) candidate for mayor of Marseille, the public prosecutor's office has opened an investigation. The MP alleges "disinformation campaigns" carried out by "foreign influences."

An investigation for defamation has been opened following a complaint filed by Sébastien Delogu, the LFI candidate for mayor of Marseille, the prosecutor's office told AFP on Tuesday, March 10.

This complaint was filed for "defamation of an individual by image or electronic communication," according to his lawyer, Yonès Taguelmint. It concerns online publications targeting the Bouches-du-Rhône MP, as the first round of municipal elections will take place this Sunday, March 15. On the social network X, Sébastien Delogu denounces "slanderous disinformation campaigns" allegedly being waged against him by "foreign influence agencies." "They don't scare me. I won't give in," he adds.
