No "compromise": François Hollande calls for no alliance with LFI in the second round of municipal elections
The former president of the Republic refuses an alliance between the socialists and La France insoumise in the second round of the municipal elections. Jean-Luc Mélenchon, for his part, denounces a "cabal with nauseating insinuations" against him. François Hollande asked Socialist candidates on Sunday not to make "compromises" with La France Insoumise (LFI) in the second round of the municipal elections, also stating that he had "no doubt" about the "strategic vote" of left-wing voters for the Socialist Party or the Greens in the first round. When questioned on the RTL-Public Sénat-Le Figaro-M6 Grand Jury program on March 22nd about possible PS-LFI agreements in the second round of the municipal elections, the former Socialist president clearly reiterated his position: "In the second round, there can be no alliance between the Socialists and LFI." id="sas_76194_s" class="bloc_center_full">
