Petrol, diesel... Here's where to find the cheapest fuel in your town or department

RMC BFM Full Tank - As the conflict in Iran and the Middle East disrupts trade, particularly in oil, and leads to price increases, one question remains: where can you find the cheapest fuel near you? Diesel, unleaded 95-E10, unleaded 98? Thanks to a search engine and an interactive map, RMC and BFM help you find the gas stations near you with the lowest prices. Supertankers blocked, the Strait of Hormuz closed, missiles and bombs falling on major hydrocarbon-producing countries... The war in the Middle East, which began on February 28, is causing legitimate concerns about gasoline prices, even as the government tries to reassure the public while prices rise daily. The government assures that it will be very vigilant regarding unjustified price increases and announces inspections by the DGCCRF (French Directorate General for Competition Policy, Consumer Affairs and Fraud Control). The fraud squad has received instructions from the Ministry of the Economy and Finance to conduct random checks at service stations. To help you navigate the system and find the best price for fuel, RMC and BFM offer several tools to find the cheapest fuel near you. On the map below, select your preferred fuel and find the price per liter at your chosen station. The bluer the color, the lower the price compared to the national average. The redder the color, the higher the price. Please note the date the prices were last updated. If the gas station is too far away, the reality may be misleading when you arrive at the pump.

Gas prices near you

None of these stations are near your home? You can compare all the prices using the search engine below. Type the name of your town to see the prices charged by the stations located near you. Please note: some of the data is old; we specify the date it was taken in the last column of the table below. Be sure to check this date; the further back it is, the more likely you are to be disappointed when you arrive.

How is the price of fuel calculated?

The price of crude oil generally represents 30% of the cost of a liter of gasoline or diesel. Refining, distribution, but also and especially taxation make up the rest. The latter generally reaches 60% of the price. This includes VAT (at 20%) and the Domestic Consumption Tax on Energy Products (TICPE). The amount of the TICPE is set annually and included in the Finance Law; it is a fixed amount, the proportion of which decreases when fuel prices increase.
