Theodora, Aya Nakamura, and Guy2Bezbar are in the running for the 4th edition of Flammes.
Nineteen categories, a wide range of pre-nominated artists including the ever-present Theodora: the 4th edition of Les Flammes, the rap and popular culture awards ceremony, opened its voting platform on Monday before handing out its trophies on April 23.
Until March 22, internet users over 13 years old can vote, via the event's website or through its partner Spotify, on some 200 artists and projects that have made their mark in 2025.
Their votes, combined with those of the ceremony's jury and those of specialized panels in certain categories, determine the nominees and then the winners, the organizers explain.
The Franco-Congolese singer Theodora ("Fashion Designa", "Des Mythos") holds the record with nine pre-nominations, including that of female artist. Hailed as a revelation at the previous edition, the "Boss Lady" has a strong chance of being crowned again, after sweeping up four trophies in February at the Victoires de la Musique awards. Shortlisted seven times, Aya Nakamura is also omnipresent, propelled by her latest album "Destinée". "This is the new pop culture." On the female revelations front, the competition looks promising with a new generation embodied by Eve La Marka (Nouvelle Ecole), Juste Shani, and the Marseille rapper Asinine. However, reflecting current trends, this first round of nominations remains dominated by male artists, including heavyweights Gims, Jul, Ninho, SDM, and Hamza. The Flame of the Concert of the Year award will be decided between their XXL shows, from the Stade de France to the Vélodrome.
Guy2Bezbar is pre-nominated in five categories, a sign of the Parisian rapper's strength, who is currently enjoying great success with "Jeunesse dorée".
This selection also includes the trio L2B, the rising star Ino Casablanca, and Disiz, all of whom have been seen at the Victoires de la Musique awards.
These artists "shouldn't be confined to our ecosystem. This is the new pop culture, so they need to be recognized everywhere," says Hamad, CEO of the digital media outlet Booska P, which co-founded the ceremony alongside the creative agency Yard.
Broadcast online from La Seine Musicale near Paris, this fourth edition aims to bring the public closer to the artists to "create a positive energy around the stage and the shows," which will be "more ambitious," he explains.
