Why you should stop booking hotels for your family vacation
The story of Pierre & Vacances stems directly from an idea by the Frenchman Gérard Brémond: to offer families a pleasant stay in places that respect the environment and, above all, are completely car-free. The first trial run took place in Avoriaz, the famous ski resort, in 1967. The success was phenomenal, and parents particularly appreciated the complete safety of the location and the absence of any motor vehicles. On the seaside, it wasn't until 1979 that Pierre & Vacances opened a location in the area.
