3 Must-Watch New Shows on Prime Video This Weekend (Oct. 9-11)

As we move deeper into October, the crisp autumn air and approaching Halloween season create the perfect atmosphere for settling in for a weekend of binge-watching. Prime Video has refreshed its library with an eclectic mix of new series that cater to every kind of viewer, whether you are looking for spine-tingling horror, lighthearted fantasy, or an intense dramatic thrill ride.

The Must-Watch Shows for Your Weekend

1. Carrie (2026) Mike Flanagan returns with a bold, eight-episode reimagining of Stephen King’s classic horror tale. Starring newcomer Summer H. Howell as the telekinetic teen Carrie White and featuring a standout performance by Samantha Sloyan as her fanatically religious mother, this series delves deep into the psychological trauma of bullying and isolation. With a strong 88% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes, it is a haunting, essential watch for the spooky season.

2. I Would Rather Die (2026) If you prefer your horror with a side of humor, this Mexican teen horror-comedy is a perfect choice. The story follows Archie, an outcast in the town of Mendoza, who finds himself bitten by a zombie at a local convenience store. Instead of a typical transition into a monster, Archie works with his goth best friend and his crush to find a cure while battling the undead. Directed by Sebastián Sariñana, it balances coming-of-age themes with clever, fast-paced thrills.

3. The 7 Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom (2026) For those seeking an escape into high fantasy, this anime series—based on Nao Iwamoto's popular manga—offers a refreshing change of pace. The story centers on seven gifted brothers from the Marronnier Kingdom who embark on a diplomatic mission across seven neighboring realms. It is a colorful, charming adventure filled with romance, humor, and noble quests, making it an excellent palate cleanser for your weekend marathon.

Whether you decide to brave the terror of a new Stephen King adaptation or prefer the lighthearted escapism of a medieval fantasy, Prime Video has plenty of options to help you make the most of your downtime this weekend.
