Whether you are searching for a new blockbuster to rent or a hidden gem buried in your service's library, there is something for every viewer.

Top Picks for Your Weekend Watchlist

Leading the way is the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe installment, "Spider-Man: Brand New Day," available on premium video-on-demand platforms. While it may not reach the heights of "No Way Home," it offers a solid, flashy adventure for Spidey fans. For those in the mood for a tense, grounded thriller, Netflix has released "Animals," featuring Ben Affleck and Kerry Washington, which promises a gripping, albeit stressful, home viewing experience.

Sci-Fi and Thriller Highlights

If you prefer high-concept storytelling, "Disclosure Day" has landed on Peacock. Directed by the legendary Steven Spielberg, this sci-fi mystery explores the chilling reality of extraterrestrial contact and government secrets. For a more psychological approach, Christopher Nolan’s "The Prestige" is now available on Netflix. This Victorian-era drama about rival magicians remains one of the director's most underrated gems and is perfect for those who enjoy a complex, twisting narrative.

Spooky Season Essentials

With the spooky season well underway, streamers are leaning into the horror genre. For viewers who prefer suspense over jump scares, "It Follows" is currently streaming on Paramount+. It remains one of the most effective horror films of the last decade, utilizing a unique, haunting concept to build dread. If you are a horror aficionado looking to revisit a modern classic, Robert Eggers' "The Witch" is ready for a rewatch on Prime Video, offering a chilling glimpse into 17th-century paranoia.
