Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4: Release Dates, Times, and DMZ Early Access Guide

Introduction to the Highly Anticipated Release

Activision has officially shared the release dates and launch times for the upcoming blockbuster Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 and its highly anticipated DMZ mode. For fans eager to jump back into the iconic first-person shooter franchise, preparation is key as pre-loads, early access windows, and official launch schedules have now been fully detailed across all platforms.

Official Release Dates and Launch Times

Call of Duty Modern Warfare 4 is scheduled to launch globally on October 23 for PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. For players jumping into the full package—including the main campaign and traditional multiplayer modes—the game will unlock at midnight regardless of your specific time zone.

However, players who cannot wait can take advantage of the campaign early access period, which kicks off a week prior on October 16. While the global launch hits at midnight, the campaign early access in France and surrounding regions will open starting at 7:00 PM (CEST) on October 16, provided you have pre-ordered eligible digital versions of the game.

Pre-Loading and System Requirements

To ensure players can dive straight into the action without waiting for massive download bars on launch day, Activision opened the pre-load phase. Fans who have pre-ordered the game can download the files ahead of time. Keep in mind that Modern Warfare 4 requires a hefty 115 GB of storage space, and PC players are strictly required to install the game on an SSD for optimal performance.

DMZ Mode and Early Access Schedule

The extraction-based DMZ mode is also making a triumphant return, offering tactical depth and high-stakes player-versus-environment-versus-player (PvPvE) combat. Players eager to test the DMZ mode in advance can do so starting on October 20 at approximately 7:00 PM (CEST), provided they hold a qualifying pre-order edition.
