Rockstar Games has officially pulled back the curtain on the auditory landscape of the highly anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI. In a move that cements the series' reputation for legendary soundtracks, the developers have confirmed that GTA 6 will feature the largest collection of radio stations ever included in the franchise, surpassing the previous record held by Grand Theft Auto V.
An Unprecedented Auditory Experience
Music has always been the heartbeat of Vice City and the broader state of Leonida. With the next entry in the series, Rockstar is leaning further into this legacy. The company has teased that the game will offer an unparalleled variety of genres, spanning from high-octane metal and rock to vibrant Latin beats, pop hits, and, true to the series' roots, insightful and satirical talk-show stations.
The First Six Stations Revealed
Rockstar has provided an early glimpse into the sound of Leonida, confirming six distinct stations that will keep players company as they navigate the open world:
- AfroBank FM: A deep dive into African sounds, including amapiano and 3-step, hosted by Burna and Palmsy.
- Back Country Radio: Focusing on classic country vibes, this station also provides immersive weather reports from the swampy regions of the game world.
- Cocoteo FM: A hub for Latin music enthusiasts, featuring bachata, merengue, and reggaeton, hosted by the charismatic El Martillo and La Gata.
- Dirty South Classics: Dedicated to the roots of southern hip-hop and rap, hosted by Trick and Trina.
- Flash FM: The quintessential pop station, helmed by hosts Robyn and Alex.
- The Chamber 106.6: A haven for rock and metal fans, hosted by DJ Kerry and DJ Tom.
A Star-Studded Lineup
Beyond the tracks themselves, Rockstar Games is elevating the immersion by bringing high-profile talent into the booth. Following in the footsteps of previous iconic radio hosts like Cara Delevingne, the studio has confirmed that global superstars Bad Bunny and Lana Del Rey will serve as hosts for Cocoteo FM and Back Country Radio, respectively. This combination of curated music and celebrity personality is set to make every journey through Vice City feel like a living, breathing reality.
