Upgrade Your Living Room: Why You Should Buy the New Siri Remote Separately

Finding a lost remote control under the couch cushions is a universal frustration for any home entertainment enthusiast. For years, Apple TV users have navigated this annoyance, but Apple’s recent product update finally addresses it directly. While many consumers are looking toward the newest iteration of the Apple TV 4K, the real unsung hero of the release is the refreshed Siri Remote itself.

The Find My Revolution

The standout feature of the new Siri Remote is its integrated speaker system. By utilizing the Find My app on your iPhone or Apple Watch, you can now trigger an audible chime from the remote, making it impossible to lose in the depths of your furniture. This combined with Precision Finding technology allows users to track the device with directional arrows and distance counters on their Apple devices, turning a frantic search into a simple walk across the room.

Budget-Friendly Upgrade

Perhaps the best part of this announcement is the accessibility of the tech. You do not need to spend $300 on the latest streaming box to benefit from these advancements. Apple is offering the new Siri Remote as a standalone accessory for $59. This move allows existing users to modernize their living room experience without the expense of replacing their entire set-top unit.

Broad Compatibility

Apple has ensured that this upgrade is inclusive. The new, speaker-equipped Siri Remote is backward compatible with all Apple TV 4K generations (1st, 2nd, and 3rd) and the Apple TV HD. Whether you are using a slightly older model or a recent purchase, you can take advantage of the improved tracking capabilities immediately.

Availability

Pre-orders for the standalone remote are currently open, with shipments scheduled to begin on Friday, November 13. For anyone tired of tearing apart their living room looking for a misplaced remote, this $59 investment is a small price to pay for the peace of mind that comes with never truly losing your remote again.
