When is 'Verity' streaming? Here's our best guess for the Colleen Hoover thriller

Introduction to the Big Screen Adaptation

One of Colleen Hoover's most unsettling bestsellers has officially made the jump to the big screen, bringing together a powerhouse cast for a deeply twisted psychological thriller. Directed by Michael Showalter, "Verity" hit theaters on October 2, following the box-office success of previous adaptations like 2024's "It Ends With Us."

Cast and Premise

The film stars Dakota Johnson as Lowen Ashleigh, a struggling writer who is hired to complete the remaining book series of the famous and incapacitated author Verity Crawford, portrayed by Anne Hathaway. Upon moving into the Crawford estate, Lowen stumbles upon a chilling, secret autobiography written by Verity herself, uncovering dark and disturbing truths. Josh Hartnett co-stars as Verity's grieving husband, Jeremy Crawford, in this R-rated cinematic adaptation.

When Can We Expect 'Verity' on Digital Streaming?

Because "Verity" is distributed by Amazon MGM Studios, it does not follow the traditional release schedules of legacy Hollywood studios. Amazon typically determines its VOD (Video on Demand) release windows on a film-by-film basis. Recent historical patterns indicate that Amazon MGM tends to bring its theatrical releases to digital platforms for rent or purchase roughly 40 to 50 days after their initial theatrical run begins.

Counting forward from the October 2 theatrical debut, movie enthusiasts can anticipate a digital release for "Verity" on platforms like Amazon Prime Video and Apple TV in mid-to-late November 2026.

When Will 'Verity' Arrive on Prime Video for Subscribers?

For fans waiting to stream the movie as part of their standard subscription, "Verity" has a guaranteed home on Prime Video. However, streaming window timelines from Amazon MGM typically range from two to four months following a film's theatrical opening. Consequently, subscribers can realistically expect the thriller to land on Prime Video sometime between late December 2026 and January 2027.

Physical Media Release Expectations

For collectors hoping to add a physical copy to their shelves, the timeline remains less certain. Amazon MGM Studios exhibits less consistency regarding 40K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD rollouts. If a physical release is greenlit, it would likely drop shortly after the digital release window, pointing toward a late 2026 release, though it is far from guaranteed.
