Looking for something fresh and thrilling to watch on Netflix this weekend? As Halloween approaches, the streaming service has expanded its library with plenty of spine-chilling selections alongside crowd-pleasing comedies and award-winning dramas. Whether you are in the mood for nostalgic late-90s slashers, atmospheric gothic romance, or timeless psychological suspense, here are three fantastic movies newly added to Netflix that deserve a spot on your weekend watchlist.

1. 'I Know What You Did Last Summer'

While newer remakes occupy space on the platform, there is an undeniable charm to the 1997 original slasher classic. Starring era icons Jennifer Love Hewitt, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr., and Ryan Phillippe, the story follows four high-school friends who accidentally strike a pedestrian with their car and dispose of the body, only to be stalked and terrorized by a hook-wielding fisherman exactly one year later. Written by Kevin Williamson, it remains a quintessential piece of late-90s horror history.

2. 'Crimson Peak'

Directed by master of the macabre Guillermo del Toro, this visually breathtaking 2015 gothic romance blends ghost stories with deep psychological dread. Set in the Victorian era, the film stars Mia Wasikowska as an American heiress who falls for a seductive British baronet, played by Tom Hiddleston. After moving into his crumbling, isolated family estate known as Allerdale Hall, she uncovers terrifying secrets about her new husband and his chilling, possessive sister, Lady Lucille, portrayed brilliantly by Jessica Chastain.

3. 'Psycho'

No spooky season movie marathon is truly complete without Alfred Hitchcock. Alongside its various sequels, Hitchcock's groundbreaking 1960 suspense masterpiece 'Psycho' is now available to stream on Netflix. This iconic black-and-white thriller follows Marion Crane, a secretary on the run who checks into the remote Bates Motel, managed by the unforgettable, deeply disturbed Norman Bates.
