When the weekend brings a dreary, rainy forecast and you find yourself trapped indoors, finding the right comfort watch is essential. While shows like Ted Lasso are often the default recommendation for feel-good television, there is an entire catalog of immersive, charming, and captivating series on Apple TV Plus that offer the ultimate cozy escape without treading familiar ground.

'Bad Sisters': Dark Comedy Meets Coastal Irish Scenery

If you are looking for a show that balances a gripping mystery with picturesque scenery and deliciously messy family dynamics, Bad Sisters is a must-watch. Set against a dreamy coastal Irish backdrop, this series blends a pitch-black comedy with a tense mystery thriller. The plot follows the close-knit Garvey sisters—Grace, Eva, Ursula, Bibi, and Becka—as they navigate the complicated fallout of dealing with Grace's toxic husband, John Paul. With stellar performances and plenty of unexpected twists, it's an ideal binge-watch for a gloomy weekend.

'Platonic': A Refreshing Take on Midlife Friendships

Moving away from traditional romantic comedies, Platonic offers a hilarious look at adult friendships and midlife reinvention. Starring Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne as long-estranged best friends Will and Sylvia, the series explores their chaotic reunion as they reconnect after years apart. Rather than falling into predictable romantic tropes, the show focuses on two codependent friends helping each other navigate personal messes and grow up, making it one of the funniest titles on the platform.

'Slow Horses': The Unlikely Spy Thriller Comfort Watch

While a spy thriller might not sound like a traditional cozy watch, Slow Horses has become a crown jewel for Apple TV Plus, boasting an impressive 98% critics score on Rotten Tomatoes. Centered around a group of MI5 rejects exiled to Slough House, the series follows their thankless work under the foul-mouthed and brilliant Jackson Lamb, brilliantly played by Gary Oldman. Despite being cast aside, the team consistently stumbles into high-stakes conspiracies, offering thrilling entertainment that will keep you hooked from start to finish.
