3 Must-Watch New Shows on Prime Video This Weekend (Oct. 9-11)

As Halloween approaches, Amazon Prime Video is turning up the fright factor, offering a curated selection of new titles perfect for binge-watching this weekend. Whether you are looking for horror-comedy or a gripping prestige drama, there is something for everyone on the streaming service.

1. 'I Would Rather Die' (2026)

This Mexican teen horror-comedy is a standout addition to the library. The story follows Archie, a self-described high school loser who, after being bitten by a zombie at a local corner store, manages to retain his human consciousness. In a race against time, Archie teams up with his goth best friend and his long-time crush to find a cure before he transforms into a mindless monster and the entire town is overrun by an apocalypse. Created and directed by Sebastián Sariñana, the series masterfully blends coming-of-age tropes with classic zombie scares.

2. 'The 7 Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom' (2026)

For those seeking a departure from horror, this anime based on Nao Iwamoto's manga series offers a fantastic escape. Set in a continent of eight kingdoms, the story focuses on the Marronnier Kingdom and its general, Baribara. Her seven sons—each a capable knight commander—are sent off as ambassadors to neighboring realms to rescue a princess, leading them on a path of adventure, romance, and political intrigue. It is an ideal pick for fans of 'The Seven Deadly Sins' looking for a lighthearted fantasy series.

3. 'Carrie' (2026)

Rounding out the list is the most anticipated horror event of the season: Mike Flanagan's eight-episode adaptation of the Stephen King classic. Starring newcomer Summer H. Howell as the bullied, sheltered Carrie White, the series expands on the source material to explore the psychological toll of her mother’s religious fanaticism and the cruelty she faces at school. With a stellar 88% on Rotten Tomatoes, this interpretation is being hailed as one of the best iterations of the story to date. It is essential viewing for anyone looking to get in the spirit of the Halloween season.
