3 Must-Watch Shows on Prime Video This Weekend (Oct 9-11)

As Halloween draws near, Amazon's Prime Video has bolstered its library with a diverse selection of new series perfect for settling in this weekend. Whether you are in the mood for high-stakes supernatural horror or lighthearted fantasy adventure, there is something for everyone on the platform.

1. Carrie (2026)

The marquee arrival this weekend is undoubtedly 'Carrie,' a fresh, eight-episode adaptation of Stephen King’s classic novel helmed by Mike Flanagan. Known for his mastery of the genre with hits like 'The Haunting of Hill House,' Flanagan brings a nuanced, deeply emotional lens to the story of Carrie White (Summer H. Howell). The series chronicles the life of a sheltered, bullied teenager living under the thumb of her fanatically religious mother, Samantha Sloyan, as she begins to harness terrifying telekinetic powers. With an impressive 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, this series is a must-watch for those looking for prestige horror this spooky season.

2. I Would Rather Die (2026)

For fans of genre-bending storytelling, 'I Would Rather Die' is an essential addition to your watchlist. This Mexican teen horror-comedy introduces us to Archie (Diego Bernal), a high school social outcast who finds himself in the worst possible scenario: getting bitten by a zombie at a local store. Instead of a quick transformation, Archie retains his consciousness, embarking on a quest to find a cure while protecting his classmates from a looming apocalypse. Directed by Sebastián Sariñana, the show masterfully balances laugh-out-loud humor with genuine coming-of-age stakes.

3. The 7 Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom (2026)

If you prefer your weekend entertainment with a dash of magic and adventure, the anime series 'The 7 Knights of the Marronnier Kingdom' is the perfect escape. Adapted from Nao Iwamoto’s beloved manga, the show centers on seven brothers, all elite knight commanders of their respective kingdoms, who are sent on a diplomatic mission that turns into a grand adventure filled with romance and political intrigue. It is an ideal watch for fans of light fantasy who want a series that is both charming and easy to binge-watch.
