Apple has officially opened its claim portal for a $250 million class action settlement, stemming from allegations that the tech giant engaged in deceptive marketing practices regarding the rollout of its AI features, specifically Siri and Apple Intelligence. With up to 36 million iPhone users potentially eligible for compensation, the path to securing a payment is now clear.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for a payout, you must be a resident of the United States and have purchased an eligible iPhone model between June 10, 2024, and March 29, 2025. Crucially, the device must have been acquired for personal use rather than for resale. The settlement encompasses a broad range of high-end Apple devices, including the iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the entire iPhone 16 series (including the iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, and the iPhone 16e).

How to File a Claim

Apple is currently notifying eligible customers via email. If you receive such a notification, it will contain a unique Claim ID and PIN. You can use these credentials on the official settlement website to complete your form. For those who do not have their serial number handy, the site allows users to provide their Apple Account email and associated phone number to verify eligibility. The window for submissions opened on September 21, 2026, and will close on December 21, 2026.

Estimated Payouts and Timelines

While the initial payout per device is set at $25, this figure may fluctuate. Depending on the total number of claims submitted, the final amount could reach up to $95 per device. Once the claims period concludes, a final approval hearing is scheduled for February 24, 2027. Consequently, claimants should not expect to receive their payments until later in 2027. This settlement represents a significant opportunity for recent iPhone owners to recoup a portion of their investment, provided they act before the December deadline.
