A New Leak Shakes Up Rockstar Games

It is another tough blow for Rockstar Games. Following the massive leaks that surfaced during the summer, the studio finally seemed to have regained control over the communication surrounding Grand Theft Auto 6. Since the end of August, fans have been treated to a wave of exciting information and never-before-seen images. However, despite a period of relative quiet from the notorious leaker known as CyberLeek, a brand-new 25-minute gameplay leak has suddenly emerged online, confirming the return of a beloved mechanic first introduced midway through the lifecycle of GTA 5: the first-person view.

The First-Person Perspective Confirmed for GTA 6

GTA 6 First Person View Leak

For those who might have missed it back then, the previous installment in the franchise received a massive overhaul upon its release on PS4 and Xbox One, which notably included the groundbreaking option to play entirely in a first-person perspective. Rockstar later carried this immersive feature forward into Red Dead Redemption 2 right at launch in 2018. Naturally, players have long wondered if GTA 6 would follow suit, either at launch or in a post-release update.

Thanks to the recent leaks courtesy of CyberLeek, we finally have a preliminary answer: yes, the FPS view is heavily confirmed to make a comeback in GTA 6. In the shared footage, a significant portion of the gameplay explicitly takes place from the first-person perspective. Viewers can witness a driving sequence shot directly through the eyes of protagonist Jason, who then exits the vehicle while seamlessly maintaining the viewpoint. This strongly suggests that first-person exploration will be fully supported throughout the open world.

Will It Be Available at Launch?

While the leaks provide exciting proof, does this guarantee that the first-person mode will be available right on day one? Not necessarily. Rockstar Games has yet to make any official announcements regarding this specific feature. Moreover, it is entirely possible that this option was present in the early build leaked by CyberLeek because developers were testing it, and the studio might reserve it for a later update if additional polish is needed—or alternatively, it could still undergo adjustments during final development.

That being said, it would come as an immense surprise if Rockstar bypassed a feature that has successfully integrated into its past two blockbuster titles and garnered a massive following. Until the developers issue an official statement, a degree of caution remains advised. Fortunately, fans will not have to wait much longer to find out firsthand, as GTA 6 is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
