Nintendo has officially announced a hauntingly delightful update for the breakout Nintendo Switch 2 success, Pokémon Pokopia. Having sold over 5 million copies in just four months, the game continues to expand its cozy, creative world with new seasonal content. The upcoming Halloween event, scheduled to run from October 17th to November 1st, promises to transform players' personal paradises with thematic decorations and new collectible creatures.
Meet the New Arrivals: Pitrouille and Banshitrouye
The highlight of this seasonal update is the introduction of the fan-favorite Ghost/Grass-type duo, Pitrouille and its evolution, Banshitrouye. Players will be able to encounter these autumnal spirits as they decorate their in-game environments. To acquire these Pokémon, players must have successfully rebuilt their first Pokémon Center and unlocked the 'Copy' skill from Zorua at Grisemer.
Spooky Customizations and Activities
During the event, players can collect special candies to trade for exclusive Halloween-themed furniture. The Pokémon Center itself will undergo a festive makeover, featuring spiderwebs, pumpkins, and spooky cameos from Pokémon like Zubat and Gengar. A unique gameplay mechanic will also be introduced, allowing players to transform into various pieces of furniture to surprise or scare fellow Pokémon in their vicinity.
What to Expect from the Décor Collection
Based on early official teasers from Nintendo Japan, the event is set to introduce a wide array of decorative items to enhance the Halloween aesthetic. Confirmed or teased items include:
- Pikachu-themed festive balloons and pumpkin baskets
- A Cofragrigus sarcophagus display
- A Trevenant-inspired tree centerpiece
- A massive Gengar-shaped pumpkin decoration
- Stone statues featuring the Duskull evolution line (Duskull, Dusclops, and Dusknoir)
- Charming stacks of decorative pumpkins
As the date approaches, fans can expect further details on specific event mechanics. This update follows a successful string of post-launch support for Pokémon Pokopia, keeping the community engaged as they await the second major DLC expansion slated for later this year.
