PS Plus Monthly Games for October 2026: A Mixed Bag for PlayStation Subscribers

As the gaming industry heads into the final quarter of 2026, Sony has officially pulled back the curtain on the upcoming PlayStation Plus Essential lineup for October. In a month crowded with major AAA releases like the latest iteration of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 and Star Wars: Galactic Racer, players are looking for value in their subscription services. However, the announcement for October has left many fans feeling lukewarm about the selection.

The October 2026 PS Plus Lineup

Starting October 6, 2026, active PS Plus members will be able to add the following three titles to their digital library:

• F1 25 (PS5): The latest entry in the premier racing simulation franchise, offering refined physics and updated tracks.
• Hunt: Showdown 1896 (PS5): A high-stakes, atmospheric PvPvE extraction shooter that tests player nerves and tactical awareness.
• Earth Defense Force: World Brothers 2 (PS5, PS4): A chaotic, action-packed shooter known for its over-the-top gameplay and massive swarms of insects.

Availability and Important Deadlines

The games will be available for download from October 6, 2026, until November 3, 2026. Subscribers are reminded that they have until these dates to claim the current September lineup, which includes Sniper Elite: Resistance, MLB The Show 26, Wobbly Life, and Chained Echoes. Once the switch occurs on November 3, the current offerings will return to their standard price, so ensure you claim them promptly to keep them in your library.

Is the Selection Worthwhile?

With October being such an incredibly busy month for new releases, the PS Plus lineup aims to provide a variety of genres to cater to different tastes. While some players may find the selection underwhelming compared to blockbuster months, these titles offer hundreds of hours of gameplay for those looking to balance their budget amidst the season's expensive software releases.
