When is 'Verity' streaming? Here's our best guess

The Anticipated Cinematic Adaptation

The dark and gripping world of Colleen Hoover's bestselling psychological thriller, Verity, has officially leaped from the page to the big screen. The film, which premiered in theaters on October 2, 2026, features a star-studded cast including Anne Hathaway, Dakota Johnson, and Josh Hartnett. Directed by Michael Showalter, the movie explores the twisted secrets of a famous author who has become incapacitated, leading to a chilling discovery by a struggling writer hired to complete her work.

Predicting the Streaming Release Date

While the film is currently enjoying an exclusive theatrical run, many fans are eagerly waiting to watch this R-rated thriller from the comfort of their homes. As an Amazon MGM Studios production, the release schedule differs slightly from traditional studio models. Based on current industry trends, Amazon typically waits between 40 and 50 days after a theatrical premiere before bringing a film to digital rental and purchase platforms.

Digital Rental and Purchase

If we look at the October 2, 2026 release date, viewers can reasonably expect to rent or buy Verity on platforms like Apple TV and Amazon in mid-to-late November 2026. This window allows for a healthy theatrical release before transitioning to premium video-on-demand.

Subscription Streaming on Prime Video

For those holding out for a subscription-based streaming release, the wait will likely be a bit longer. As an Amazon MGM Studios project, Verity is destined to call Prime Video its home. Historically, Amazon's original or distributed films reach their flagship streaming service anywhere from two to four months after their initial cinema debut. Consequently, a release on Prime Video is anticipated to occur between late December 2026 and January 2027.

Will There Be a Physical Release?

At this moment, there is no official announcement regarding a 4K UHD, Blu-ray, or DVD release for Verity. Amazon MGM's strategy regarding physical media has been inconsistent compared to legacy studios. Should a physical release be greenlit, collectors should look for potential news arriving in the weeks following the digital debut, likely pointing toward a late-2026 timeframe.

For those who cannot wait to uncover the dark secrets of the Crawford estate, the only option currently available is to experience the film in local theaters.
