Consumer electronics and mobile phones are facing unrelenting price pressures due to rising production and component costs, especially for RAM and storage. Recent industry leaks suggest that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S27 lineup will not be immune to these increases, with all three models potentially facing a price hike.

Galaxy S27 Price Hikes Across the Board

Initial rumors pointed toward a $100 price increase specifically for the Galaxy S27 Ultra, potentially raising its starting price from $1,300 to $1,400. However, fresh reports originating from Korean social media channels indicate that the entire Galaxy S27 family may see price adjustments. Driven by soaring memory costs that Samsung can no longer completely absorb, the base price increases are projected to start in the higher 130,000 won range (roughly $95 USD equivalent based on current exchange rates). While regional pricing strategies can vary, market analysts believe global consumers will likely see similar cost adjustments.

The Galaxy S27 Ultra Weight and Battery Upgrades

Alongside pricing details, key hardware specifications for the Galaxy S27 Ultra have also leaked. According to reliable industry sources like Ice Universe, the S27 Ultra is expected to weigh 218 grams (7.69 ounces)—a slight four-gram increase over its predecessor—while maintaining a slim 7.9mm (0.31-inch) thickness.

This minimal weight gain paired with a consistent thickness strongly points to the adoption of advanced silicon-carbon battery technology, similar to Samsung's implementation in the Galaxy Z Fold 8 series. This technology allows for a significantly larger energy density, bumping the rumored battery capacity up to 5,700 mAh compared to the 5,000 mAh pack found in the S26 Ultra.

Qi2 Wireless Charging Integration

Further contributing to the device's build and slight weight adjustment, Samsung is reportedly integrating magnets into the back of the S27 series to provide native Qi2 wireless charging support. This shift will allow users to seamlessly utilize magnetic wireless chargers and accessories without the need for specialized protective cases, aligning Android flagships closer to the MagSafe ecosystem popularized by Apple.
