Introduction to the Next-Gen Battery-Powered Stove
When we put the Copper Charlie induction stove to the test earlier this year, we were deeply impressed by its innovative battery-powered technology, which signaled a potential paradigm shift for modern home kitchen appliances. Now, just when you thought the futuristic cookery space couldn't evolve any faster, Copper has returned with a heavily upgraded successor simply dubbed the 'New Charlie'. Building on the foundation of the original Classic Charlie, this latest iteration brings major hardware tweaks designed to deliver significantly more heating power and flexibility to home chefs.
Enhanced Voltage Flexibility: 120-Volt and 240-Volt Support
One of the most noteworthy upgrades in the New Charlie is its expanded electrical compatibility. While the original Classic Charlie was restricted to standard 120-volt outlets, the New Charlie gives homeowners much greater installation flexibility. Although it still ships natively with a 120-volt plug, users can swap it out for a 240 VAC field-wireable attachment plug if they desire higher electrical throughput. This versatility makes integrating a high-powered battery system into varied kitchen layouts considerably easier.
More Heat, Less Waiting: Upgraded Wattage and Performance
Copper hasn't just stopped at electrical flexibility; the New Charlie also packs a serious punch when it comes to raw thermal output. The induction coils have been ramped up to an impressive 3,000 Wattsâan increase from the 2,800 Watts found on the previous model. Additionally, the broiler has been upgraded to 3,000 Watts, up from 2,700 Watts in the Classic Charlie.
As a result of these performance boosts, Copper reports that the time required to preheat the oven to 350°F has dropped from 4 minutes and 30 seconds down to a brisk 3 minutes and 50 seconds. Furthermore, the integrated battery remains a core staple of the design, ensuring that you can continue cooking seamlessly even during an unexpected neighborhood blackout.
Pricing and Availability
All of these cutting-edge upgrades come with a notable price adjustment. While the Classic Charlie already commanded a premium price tag starting at $5,999 for the Inkwell Black Polymer design (scaling up to $6,399 for the Black Walnut detailing), the New Charlie pushes the envelope further. The base rate for the New Charlie starts at $6,799, while the Black Walnut finish reaches $7,199. While it represents a major financial investment for any household, Copper's latest appliance proves that the brand is aggressively pushing the boundaries of kitchen technology.
