Minisforum G1 Pro Crowned Top Mini PC of the Year — And It’s Currently $450 Off

Introduction to Console-Sized Power

Transitioning from a traditional gaming console to a full PC gaming setup no longer requires being chained to your desk by a massive, bulky tower. The Minisforum G1 Pro serves as prime proof, boasting a compact frame smaller than a PS5 Slim while easily outperforming both it and the Xbox Series X in raw CPU processing capabilities and advanced ray-tracing performance.

Why the Minisforum G1 Pro Stands Out

Having tested numerous industry-leading mini PCs throughout the year, the Minisforum G1 Pro quickly secured a permanent spot on the reviewer's desk. Earning the prestigious title of the best mini PC of the year in the Tom’s Guide Awards for 2026, this machine redefines what compact hardware can achieve. Right now, shoppers can take advantage of a massive markdown, dropping the price of the G1 Pro down to $1,699 at Newegg—a generous savings of $450 off its standard $2,149 retail price.

Desktop-Grade Hardware Inside a Compact Chassis

Equipped with an AMD Ryzen 9 8945HX processor and 32GB of high-speed DDR5 memory, the G1 Pro is undeniably a powerhouse. While its footprint is slightly larger than a basic square mini PC, every millimeter of extra space is optimized to house a dedicated, desktop-style Nvidia RTX 5060 GPU. Accompanied by a speedy 1TB SSD for storing an extensive Steam library and Windows 11 pre-installed out of the box, it delivers remarkable value.

Ports, Connectivity, and Upgradability

Despite its small form factor, connectivity is an absolute strength for the G1 Pro. The front panel features convenient USB-A, USB-C, and a headphone jack, while the rear hosts dual USB-A ports, an additional USB-C connection, dual DisplayPort 2.1 outputs, a DisplayPort 1.4a port, dual HDMI 2.1 ports, and a blazing-fast 5 gigabit Ethernet port. Wireless capabilities are equally cutting-edge, featuring Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support.

Furthermore, internal components are remarkably accessible. By removing the vertical stand and a couple of base screws, the vented side panel slides right off. Users can expand their setup by utilizing a second M.2 slot to scale storage up to an impressive 8TB, alongside populating the open memory slot to push total RAM capacity up to a staggering 96GB.

The Ultimate Portable Gaming Companion

Surpassing expectations both at a standard office desk and when connected to a living room TV, the G1 Pro proves exceptionally versatile. Its compact nature even makes it a viable travel companion, slipping easily into a backpack alongside a portable monitor, keyboard, and mouse for gaming on the go. For anyone looking to leave consoles behind in favor of a flexible, high-performance PC setup, the Minisforum G1 Pro is an unmatched recommendation—especially with its current discount.
