10 Apple Products Expected at the 'Welcome Home' Event on October 13

Apple has officially teased its upcoming 'Welcome Home' product event, scheduled to take place in New York on October 13 at 9 a.m. ET. Led by Greg Joswiak's promotional trailer, the announcement strongly points toward a major push into the smart home ecosystem. Rumors have circulated for years regarding an Apple-designed suite of connected home hardware, and next week's event is expected to finally bring these long-awaited gadgets to store shelves.

Based on recent leaks, industry watchers anticipate anywhere from three to ten new devices, anchored by the brand-new HomePad smart hub. Here is a detailed breakdown of what to expect from Apple's upcoming October showcase.

The Headliner: HomePad Smart Home Hub

The centerpiece of the 'Welcome Home' event is widely expected to be the new smart home hub, referred to in leaks as the HomePad or HomePod 3. Designed to unify the entire smart home experience, this device reportedly combines a high-end audio speaker with an iPad-like touchscreen interface. It will leverage advanced Siri AI features to handle complex voice and touch commands, positioning it to directly compete with established smart displays and speakers in the market.

According to ongoing reports, Apple may launch multiple form factors, including a standalone smart speaker and a wall-mounted touchscreen controller. Key features are said to include a built-in FaceTime camera for video calls, ambient presence sensors to seamlessly trigger automation routines, and individual user voice recognition.

HomePod mini 2

Fans of Apple's compact smart speaker have been waiting years for a successor to the original HomePod mini, which launched back in 2020. The rumored HomePod mini 2 is expected to maintain its familiar physical footprint while receiving internal performance upgrades. A faster processor will allow the miniature speaker to fully support advanced Siri AI tasks, alongside potential improvements to overall audio fidelity and a fresh lineup of vibrant color options.

Upgraded Apple TV 4K

Long overdue for a refresh, the Apple TV 4K set-top box is also slated for an update at the October event. While previous rumors pointed toward an A17 Pro chip, newer expectations suggest Apple may equip the streaming device with an even newer A19 or A20 chipset. Additionally, the updated Apple TV 4K is rumored to feature Apple's proprietary N2 networking chip for enhanced Wi-Fi and Bluetooth performance, alongside Siri AI integrations to serve as an effective smart home control center.

Apple and LG Smart Home Partnership

In a surprising twist, recent reports from Bloomberg have highlighted a collaboration between Apple and LG to co-develop a robust suite of smart home accessories. Leaked renders indicate that these devices will feature LG branding while integrating seamlessly into the Apple Home ecosystem. The anticipated lineup includes a video doorbell, a smart thermostat, and a trio of security cameras tailored for indoor, outdoor, and floodlight configurations.

Smart Deadbolt Lock

The Apple-LG partnership has yielded a unique Smart Deadbolt lock featuring a rotating mechanical keypad. Designed to prevent wall collisions via an integrated swivel pin, it will be available in standard 2.375-inch and 2.75-inch brackets. Features include customizable touchpad light rings, open-door alerts, master access codes, and emergency power support.

Smart Thermostat and Temperature Sensors

Echoing the modern aesthetic of Google's Nest learning thermostats, the new smart thermostat boasts a rounded design with a far-sight display, customizable language settings, and precise temperature calibration tools. Furthermore, a companion magnetic temperature and humidity sensor will allow users to monitor ambient conditions across different rooms with ease.

As Apple prepares to take the stage on October 13, the tech community eagerly awaits confirmation of these leaks. Whether you are looking to upgrade your streaming setup or build a fully integrated smart home network, the 'Welcome Home' event promises to mark a major milestone for Apple's hardware roadmap.
